Dr. K. Newton Issac, MD (General Medicine) — Internal Medicine Specialist & Associate Professor, Government Medical College.
- Fevers & infectious diseases, diabetes, hypertension
- Heart, liver & kidney disease — including organ failure care
- Joint pains & rheumatological (autoimmune) diseases
Areas of Expertise
One physician for the conditions that often come together
Diabetes, blood pressure, heart, kidney and liver disease frequently overlap in the same patient. Internal medicine treats the whole person — not one organ at a time.
Infectious Diseases
Evaluation and treatment of fevers, dengue, malaria, typhoid, tuberculosis, sepsis and difficult-to-diagnose infections.
Diabetes
Blood sugar control, insulin management, and prevention of complications affecting the eyes, kidneys, nerves and heart.
Hypertension
Accurate diagnosis, medication tailored to you, and protection of the heart, brain and kidneys from long-term damage.
Cardiac Diseases
Care for heart failure, ischaemic heart disease, and cardiac risk in patients with diabetes and hypertension.
Liver Disease & Liver Failure
Management of jaundice, fatty liver, hepatitis, cirrhosis and its complications, and acute liver failure.
Kidney Disease & Renal Failure
Early detection and slowing of chronic kidney disease, electrolyte problems, and care of acute kidney injury.
Rheumatological Diseases
Joint pains, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus (SLE), vasculitis and other autoimmune conditions — a special area of interest.
General Adult Medicine
Second opinions, unexplained symptoms, preventive health checks, and coordinated care for multiple long-term conditions.
About the Doctor
A decade of treating patients — and training the next generation of doctors
Dr. K. Newton Issac is an internal medicine specialist with 10 years of clinical experience caring for adult patients across Kurnool and Nandyal. His daily practice spans the full breadth of general medicine — from common fevers and lifestyle diseases to complex, multi-organ illness requiring careful judgement.
As Associate Professor in the Department of General Medicine at Government Medical College, he teaches medical students and trains resident doctors while managing a busy hospital service. This combination keeps his practice grounded in current evidence and the latest treatment guidelines.
He has a special interest in rheumatological and autoimmune diseases, and in the care of patients whose diabetes, blood pressure, heart, liver and kidney problems need to be managed together rather than in isolation.
